Individual Therapy
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change” - Carl Rogers
My approach to therapy is informed by and solidly rooted in humanistic and experiential theories, which emphasize the unique experiences of every person and their inherent potential to grow and heal. Through insight-oriented, process-based sessions, I guide clients in exploring various aspects of themselves, promoting deeper self-awareness and self-acceptance.
I also believe that therapy is most effective when it’s an active process in which the client engages in the work both inside and outside of the therapy office. By utilizing various interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based interventions, my intention is to support the clients in cultivating compassion and clarity to further facilitate them in taking personal responsibility towards making conscious choices that are aligned with their most important values.
I work with adult clients grappling with various issues, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, grief and loss, low self-esteem, codependency, acculturation, chronic pain, and more.
Couples Therapy
“The drama of love is all about this hunger for safe emotional connection, a survival imperative we experience from the cradle to the grave. Loving connection is the only safety nature ever offers us” - Sue Johnson
My approach to working with couples is strongly grounded in a systems theory, aiming to bring about meaningful change. I guide couples in exploring attachment issues, ways to more effectively respond to one another, and create a deeper connection that allows for healthy communication of needs and desires.
I utilize clinical interventions from Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy to assist couples in identifying the unhealthy relational patterns and dynamics where they often get stuck in, creating a new narrative as well as a new emotional experience which lead to a new way of connecting with one another.
